06. Sesha Mahaan’s Jayanthi – 2012

Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

ஆரா அமுதே அளவிலாப் பெம்மானே! என் சேஷ நாதனே!

This year, the 142nd. Jayanthi or the birth anniversary of Avathar and Mahaan Sri Seshadri Swamigal falls on the 15th. of January, 2012. This auspicious day coincides with the festival of Pongal, Sankranthi, and Makara Jyothi.

At a deeper level, the festival of Pongal signifies – new life, growth, abundance. It propounds the qualities of charity, generosity, the spirit of love and humaneness, and the spirit of compassion to fellow human beings and all forms of life….

Mahaan is Auspicious, He is Nectarine.

As when are mingled milk, sweet juice of cane and butter,

Thou dost distil, like honey, in the thought of glorious devotees,

And cuttest off the continuity of births – our mighty One!

(-‘SivaPuraanam’, THIRUVAASAGAM)

He is the Lord of our lives, and of all life forms that exist!

He is Love, an Ocean of Compassion…

He is our Merciful Benevolent Lord!

How beautifully it coincides that the spirit of Annadaanam is best expressed on the day of Pongal, when we congregate and participate in sharing food with all other forms of life, especially on the day of the birth of our Mahaan, Who held ‘Annadaanam’ as the highest ideal in one’s life!

The moment of our Beloved Sesha Mahaan’s birth

augurs festivity.

His Presence in our lives is cause for Celebration!

To us, His birth is our own birth and regeneration…

The day of His birth, marks the beginning of Uttaraayanam, when the God and the Guru’s Grace is fully upon His devotee…The spiritual seeker’s flow toward His Lord is cosmically blessed. Mahaan takes His dear devotee from darkness to light! The soul travels from ignorance to enlightenment…

Mahaan’s birth fills our world with sweetness…

Sesha Mahaan is Devi Kamakshi’s Sweet Prasaadam to us….

Maragatham Ammal, on Seshadri:

  • the Sakora birds of Bharat would drink the divine nectar flowing from the face of her baby Seshadri.

  • the lotus eyes of her baby Seshadri would be alchemy to remove the sins of mankind.

  • His lips and tongue are the lions on which Goddess Saraswathi would sit.

The sweetness of His Divine Visage, and His Holy Name shall live in our hearts ever….

To celebrate the birth of our Mahaan on this blessed day is sweetness indeed!

சேஷனும் பக்தர்களும்” verse: 70

(18th. October, 2009 – 11:00 a.m.)

Sweet is the name of our Lord!

Sweet as Honey is the Sesha Mantram!

Sweet are the words of the Resplendant Omniscient One!

Sweet is His Divine Ordinance…

Sweet is the Divine play of our Dear Parent!

Drowning ourselves in His solitary pursuit,

He would grant us His Divine Vision – the Golden, Precious One!

He would take upon Himself

the unsurmountable life-burden of His devotees, –

SeshaNatha – our Noble One!

And wipe away all our sins,

Our own Lord SeshaNatha!

The Immaculate One!

Just as Mahaan’s Love grows in us,

So, may we grow into Mahaan’s Love…

என் உயிர் சேஷ நாதா! உமக்கு அனந்த கோடி நமஸ்காரங்கள்!
